Privacy policy
This privacy policy describes how BadHabits Bank ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the BadHabits Bank mobile application for Android and iOS (the "App").
Summary
- What you enter in the App stays on your device. We do not operate servers that store your records.
- Optional usage analytics can be turned off in the App at any time.
- Crash diagnostics are collected to keep the App stable. They do not include the content you enter in the App.
Information we do not collect
The App does not require you to create an account. We do not receive or store on our servers the accounts, habits, activities, transactions, or other records you create in the App. The App has no remote backend for your data.
Information stored on your device
The App stores locally on your phone or tablet the information you choose to enter, including:
- Account names and tracked balances
- Currencies, habits, and activities
- Transaction records (amounts, quantities, and dates)
- App preferences such as language, analytics opt-in, and backup reminders
- Optional app lock settings
This information is kept in on-device storage (SQLite and local preferences). It remains on your device unless you delete it, export it, or uninstall the App.
Backup and export
You may export a backup file from the App. Backup files are created on your device and are under your control. If you share or store a backup outside the App, you are responsible for protecting that file.
App lock
If you enable app lock, authentication is handled by your device's biometric or PIN system through platform APIs. We do not receive or store your biometric data.
Usage analytics (optional)
With your permission, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used so we can improve the App. This may include:
- Screen names you visit within the App
- Basic interaction events related to App features
- Technical information such as app version and platform
Analytics does not include account names, amounts, or other content from the records you enter.
You can turn off usage analytics at any time in the App: More → Settings & About → Usage analytics. When disabled, new analytics events are not collected.
Crash diagnostics
The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information when the App fails unexpectedly. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include device model, operating system version, app version, and technical logs related to the crash.
Crashlytics is used for stability monitoring and does not include the content you enter in the App. Crash reporting cannot be disabled separately from using the App.
Third-party services
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are provided by Google. Google's processing is governed by Google's policies. Learn more at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Information you enter in the App remains on your device until you delete it through App features or uninstall the App.
To request deletion of Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics telemetry associated with your use of the App, email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request” and include the app name, platform (Android or iPhone), and approximate install date. We will request deletion of associated Firebase telemetry where Google’s tools allow. Retention may still apply per Google’s policies. The App has no cloud account or server-side user profile to delete.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
